Phoenix Area Accident Injury so Severe, Garners International Attention from UK Media
MESA, AZ: The unnamed 25-year-old was killed when a driver crashed into him in Mesa on June 19. Police had originally thought the motorist had fled the scene with the severed limp attached to the vehicle, but an inspection days later recovered the missing leg from a nearby building.
Officers arrested Jose DeJesus Padilla-Rodriguez, who was allegedly behind the while of the vehicle, two days after the incident after being tipped off by his friend.
Two days after that, and after failing to recover the severed limb, police returned to the scene and eventually discovered the leg 160 feet away on the roof of a building at Uncle Bob’s Self-Storage.
