PHOENIX MAN ROBBED, STABBED 10 TIMES WHILE PUMPING GAS

Police say a 55-year-old man remains in serious condition after being stabbed multiple times during a struggle with two men while pumping gas at a Circle K in south Phoenix early Tuesday morning. The man was fueling his vehicle before heading to work at 699 E. Buckeye Rd. when the two men demanded his wallet, according to a Phoenix Police Department spokesperson. A struggle broke out between the three men, and the two men stabbed him multiple times. The entire confrontation was caught on video.

The confrontation allegedly took place just after 3:00 a.m. The suspects reportedly ran from the Circle K gas station on foot going south on Seventh Street from Buckeye Road. At this point, police do not have a good description of the suspects. All detectives know is that the suspects are Hispanic men in their early 20s. One was wearing a white shirt and black shorts. The other was wearing a red shirt and shorts. It is unknown if they were able to take anything from the man.

According to police, the victim stopped at the convenience store to gas up his pickup truck before heading to work. The two suspects had been hanging around the store and approached the victim while he was at the pump, reportedly demanding his wallet. Investigators believe the men were after the victim’s truck. They also say it’s possible that the suspects were high on drugs.

Meanwhile, the unidentified victim was taken to a Phoenix hospital where is underwent surgery and is expected to survive his injuries. Detectives are working to find surveillance footage that might help the investigation.

Police searched the neighborhood but were unable to find the suspects. They do, however, believe the men might live in the area.

Detectives are working with the owner of the Circle K to obtain surveillance video from cameras on the building.
